Clinton Davis has it all. It is hard enough to find a great traditional fingerstyle guitarist but how about one who is also a master of old-time fiddle, boogie piano and downhome banjo. Clinton is a master of all these instruments plus he is a wonderful singer. He is carrying on the traditional music torch of Mike Seeger
legendary performer, documentarian, and disseminator
of traditional American guitar
Clinton’s playing style is simply sublime, channeling the traditions of the clawhammer style, while adding just enough of a twist to make it his own. Meanwhile, his distinctive voice soars, taking you on a vivid journey through the vastness of the United States and beyond. He is a true gem to listen to and we are honored to work with him.
America’s largest banjo manufacturer
A beautiful, beautiful music video for “Curly Headed Woman,” off of my new album, will be premiered on The Bluegrass Situation on Thursday, September 23rd. The video was directed by Omar Lopex of Standard Fantastic Pictures, and shot entirely on Super 8 film. We filmed in May, during that brief window of time when colorful wildflowers are in bloom and plentiful around San Diego. I was joined by my friends Erin Bower (who also sings on the recording) and Aaron Brownwood.
