Hobo Grunt Cycle in NYC

About six years ago I had the pleasure of working with Lone Wolf Tribe, an experimental puppet theater based in New York that makes some pretty gnarly looking puppets out of sofa foam. I did some sound design and composition for their piece Hobo Grunt Cycle, which has since been performed on the West Coast, the Netherlands, and Brazil. This weekend it begins a run in New York at Dixon Place.

Recording with Eric Derr and Patrick Hart

Very excited to work with Eric Derr and Patrick Hart in the studio. Patrick’s awesome and hilarious piece 700 Club recycles midi files from various commercial music productions, cranking up their tempos and stitching them together into a maximalist math-core saturday morning cartoon freakout…  which Eric totally shreds over with his insane drumming. When you put it all together it’s like The Locust writing for Spongebob. You can hear the midi music via Patrick’s website, and we’ll hope to have a final mix with drums soon.
